Ride the Bus
You will need a deck of playing cards for this game. Nine of these cards are then dealt and placed face down upon the table in a three by three layout. The leftover cards are then dealt out amongst the other players, making sure that each person has even numbers. Any cards left after this are excluded from the game.
One by one, the nine cards are then flipped over and if a card in any of the players’ hands matches the card that has been turned over, the matching card must be placed on the table face up. If this happens, the player who had the matching card must nominate three opponents to drink one swig of their drink. One player can be nominated to drink all three swigs worth. If the player has two cards that match the one on the table, then they have six swigs to nominate and so on.
The round ends when all cards on the table are turned over.
Once the round has ended, any players who still have all their cards left has to ‘ride the bus’ and the dealer shuffles the deck again and places the cards in a diamond formation.
All the participants who ‘ride the bus’ play as a team and need to flip over the cards one by one from one side of the formation on the table to the other without turning over a Jack, King, Queen or an Ace. If one of these cards come up all of the cards all the cards are taken from the remainder of the deck and participants must ‘ride the bus’ again and each time this happens, the players needs to drink three swigs of their drink.
When the players have come to the other side of the diamond and not revealed one of the cards mentioned above, all the participants have succeeded in the ‘ride the bus’ goal. After this, the game is complete.
